We’ve had a bit of an interesting time lately, so I thought I would take up writing again.

It is now 2020 and we have spent the last 40 or so days “socially distancing.” So that means staying at home as much as possible, limiting physical contact and washing hands more frequently than I was used to in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. I’m not necessarily using this platform to talk about the virus, but just to collect some thoughts and share some ideas. In the past when I have blogged, I haven’t really attracted an audience but then again, I’ve never really been too serious about writing.

First, let us back up a bit and I’ll introduce myself, my name is Steve. I’ve been working in the Information Technology field for 16 years now. I got my start as a web developer and have moved around to work in various areas over the years. I now work for a company that has had me traveling around the country a bit (at least until this “stay at home” stuff started). I really do like the travel and exploration that my current job affords and am looking forward to getting back to traveling soon.

This year, I purchased a professional grade camera and have started to learn a lot about photography as well as making videos. I hope to explore this more and will make sure to share what I have learned and experienced around this area.

I have also been trying to work at getting healthy both by eating better and exercising more. This has stemmed from me getting diagnosed with type 2 diabetes several years ago. I think I’d like to document some of this as well as I had a really tough time when I initially found out. I would like to be a helpful resource.
